SUNDAY SCHOOL
— Adult Classes
Christian Education is vital to persons of all ages. Asbury offers
a wide variety of classes for every age group. Through Sunday School
classes people learn more about the Bible and a Christian's place
in the world, experience spiritual growth, assist in service projects
and participate in fellowship events.
Sunday School is one of the best ways to develop strong personal
relationships with other members of the church and to understand
more about your own Christian faith.
Emmanuel Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 125
The Emmanuel class, made up of couples and singles from the 40s
to 70s, enjoys programs as diverse as its members. Topics
range from Bible study and social issues to a number of denominational
questions. The Emmanuel class truly believes in serving by doing,
and is actively involved in numerous programs of outreach from
Habitat for Humanity to a local prison ministry. Regular class socials
and activities provide numerous opportunities for spiritual growth
through fellowship. Join them on Sunday morning in Room 125, and
plan to study and serve with new friends at Asbury UMC.

Foundations Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 102
Offering study for couples of varied ages and stages, this class's
members enjoy numerous opportunities for fellowship outside of their
weekly class time and are actively involved in the life of the church.
As the group's name implies, these active adults are devoted to
building a firm foundation in their marriages, their homes and in
the church. Members are devoted to regular Bible Study and numerous
other opportunities for spiritual growth. Join them on Sunday morning
and build that foundation in your life.

Group 101
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 101
This is not your normal Sunday School Class. There is no lesson or teacher, but rather this is a group designed around a covenant that they have formed with one another to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Making promises to one another in areas of worship, service, devotion, and justice, this group gets together each Sunday and asks one another how they are doing in fulfilling the covenant they have made. Built on accountability, the members of this group seek to live their Christian lives day in and day out with one another.

Horizons Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 103
The Horizons class is the result of a merger between two former
classes in January of 1996. Its membership is diverse with couples
and singles ranging in age from 30 to 50 who enjoy regular opportunities
for study and fellowship. Members of this marvelous group find themselves
actively involved in the life of Asbury UMC through leadership in
children and youth programs and various community outreach programs.
They enjoy regular social activities and involvement in local and
community events. Join them on Sunday morning and begin your day
with a new Horizon.

The Journey
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 123
The Journey is an intergenerational Sunday School class. Not only are there long-time Christians in this group, but there are also new Christians. It is a amazing to see how God brings us together as a community through God’s word. While studying the Scripture each week, they share together where how God is leading them in their journey of faith.

New Directions Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 107
We're New Directions– an Asbury Sunday School class where you’ll feel at home here with friendships unsurpassed. There are doctors, lawyers, bankers and clergyman, data processors, teachers, builders and surgeons,
secretaries, underwriters, ubiquitous wives, artists and dancers and workers of every size. We study the Bible and apply God’s Word on our lives each day as our prayers are heard. We often gather for a movie, game or meal,
or to celebrate birthdays with love we all feel. Come visit us soon, we have room for YOU! We’re an extended family, and we hope you’ll like us too!

Next Phase Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 104
This lively class is a group primarily in their 20s and 30s – married,
married with young children, and singles. Next Phase lessons can
vary from directly studying a book of the Bible to reading a book
together or having a guest teacher lead discussion. No matter the
topic, they always keep the discussion relevant to what goes on in
the daily life of a Christian. This group often gets together outside
of Sunday morning classes for service in the community, prayer,
and just fun time together. Join them on Sundays in Room 104.

Robert Moore Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 227
The Robert Moore Class, organized in 1938, is home to a marvelous
group of senior adults who are devoted to their faith and their
church. Through the Adult Bible Study, they delve into a stimulating
study of His Word, with leadership by various class members and
special guest teachers. This group is actively involved in ministry
both within and outside of the church, and enjoy regular opportunities
for fellowship with monthly class potlucks and a variety of regularly
scheduled social activities. Be a part of the Lord’s work
and join them each week in Room 227. They are saving a spot for
YOU!

Teague Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 100
The Teague class was formed in 1965 and is composed of couples and
singles from 40 to 60 years of age. The Adult Bible Study series
provides stimulating discussion of both Old and New Testament lessons.
Members of this class are actively involved in the life of their
church and truly believe in hands-on ministry through service at
a local soup kitchen and on-going ministry to many of the home-bound
members of Asbury UMC. They enjoy regular opportunities for fellowship
through a variety of outreach and social activities. Join them on
Sunday morning in Room 100 and be Christ’s hands to the world.

Wilson Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 121
The Wilson Class is a wonderfully diverse class ranging in age form
50 to 70. They enjoy lively and interesting discussion as they study
His Word. The class participates in a variety of mission and outreach
projects based on the interest of the group. Members of the Wilson
Class believe in active participation in their church through involvement
in numerous work areas and special groups. Members are always visible
and ready to greet you at church dinners and events. Monthly fellowships
provide for deep and lasting friendships and faith enriching experiences
with one another. Join them on Sunday mornings in Room 121. They
will welcome you in their midst.

Win One Class
Sundays 9:45 a.m., Room 120
Formed more than 40 years ago, the Win One class offers a diverse membership
of middle and older adults alike. This caring and nurturing group
of adults is committed to Bible study and faith sharing though the
Adult Bible Study series and involve themselves in mission and outreach
opportunities both within the church and beyond. Social events include
potluck dinners, dining out and special trips scheduled throughout
the year. Are you looking for deep and lasting friendships with
a diverse group of people? If so, join them in Room 120 and let
them show you what they have to offer. You too, will be "Won
by One."
