Chancel Handbell Ringers
Sunday 6:00-7:00pm- Handbell Room (201)
The Adult Chancel Handbell Ringers of AUMC, is a featured group of instrumentalists who provide special music in various worship services throughout the year. They also participate in combined musical presentations with all choral & instrumental groups during the high season times, Christmas and Easter. They also provide concert/special music for various holiday performances in the LR community. The group consists of approximately 10-12 ringers. However, there is always room for more. This area of music ministry is open to any and all interested adults and senior high youth. Even though many of the current members have ringing experience and knowledge of music, new members are welcome and are not required to have prior music reading knowledge. Part of worshipping God through handbell music experience, is the process of learning all that is necessary in terms of technique and artistic ability during rehearsals for the sake of musical excellence and most of all God’s glory. During the summers, there are no rehearsals until after Labor Day in September.
Junior Handchime/Handbell Ringers
Sunday 3:00-3:30pm- Handbell Room (201)
The junior handchime/handbell Ringers is another facet of AUMC’s expanding music program for children and junior high youth of all ages. This featured group of instrumentalists is for children in grades 1-5, and youth, grades 6-8. They provide special music for various worship services throughout the year. They also participate in combined musical presentations with all choral & instrumental groups during high season times, Christmas and Easter. The group currently consists of 6-8 ringers. There is room for more interested young people in learning what it means to worship God through beautiful handbell music. No prior music knowledge is required, learning is part of the ringing process towards musical excellence in this area of ministry.
