CHILDREN — Worship
Opportunities
Family Worship
Children’s Bibles and other quiet Bible activities are available during
all worship services to enhance the child’s worship experience.
Ask your ushers for assistance.
KIDS'
Club Worship
At the appointed time during all worship services, parents may choose for their children, age 3yrs through
4th grade, to be escorted by our staff to KIDS' Club worship.
They will experience lessons and activities based on the morning's sermon to help them better understand God's message.
1st
Sundays' Holy Communion
We hope you take this
opportunity to worship as a family, teaching your children the importance
of worship...the joy of praising God through word, prayer, song,
and the sacrament of Holy Communion. The United
Methodist Communion table is open to all people, including children,
who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.
To
prepare a very young child for communion, share
this simple story: In Bible times, Jesus shared a special meal with his friends and each time they shared such a meal in the future, he asked them to remember him. Today, we
remember Jesus by tasting the bread and juice of Holy Communion.
Encourage child to say "I remember you, Jesus" when they pray. For
older Children, refer the child to Luke 22:7-20; Read the
scripture together and encourage this memory verse.."Do this
in memory of me." Luke 22:19.
Acolytes
Children entering grades three through eight are invited to serve
as Acolytes in traditional worship. Training is offered annually
or on an individual basis by arrangement. The children
are taught how to serve and assist pastors in the worship service, lighting altar candles,
helping with Holy Communion, and assisting in other religious ceremonies.
