Jesus commanded his disciples, “Love one another.” Not only are called to help the poor, the oppressed, and the stranger in the world, we are also called to care for one another. By doing so, the love of Christ is made real to those in need within the community. Moreover, as we love one another, our light shines out in the world so others can see Christ’s love in action. As we seek to fulfill the commandment to love one another, God’s Spirit strengthens us as we make ourselves available to the Lord.
