A Thought: The New Has Come! On this, the anniversary of my birth, I will serve my final Holy Communion as Asbury’s Sr. Pastor. Communion is a great word. As the Body of Christ, we “come into union” receiving the elements representing our Lord’s Body and Blood, remembering their power in reconciliation to God and one another. This transformation confirms the old(sin) has passed away, and the new(righteousness) has come in Christ through repentance of our sin.
There is no greater way to celebrate my birth than to celebrate my New Birth in Jesus Christ! Happy Sunday to you all!
2 Cor.5:17 “The old has passed away; the new has come!
