April 29

A Thought: Happy Zipper Day! The exact birthday of the zipper is debated, but Zipper Day is traditionally celebrated on April 29. On that date in 1913, Swedish-American scientist and inventor Gideon Sundback received a patent for a curious contraption he called “hook-less fastener”. Zippers keep things together; complete a task; remind us to keep things shut; and protect privacy. Kind of sounds like good practices of spiritual discipline! In our Christian daily life, we need to do what we can to unify situations; stay focused to the works before us; keep our mouths shut against verbal slaughter against character; and regard and respect others’ privacy in a world that encourages the opposite. Have a Marvelous Monday! Ephesians 4:3 “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
