A Thought: Focus on What Matters.
In life, people will share with you what matters to them. They may even try to suggest that what matters to them should be important to you. Maybe it will. Maybe it won’t. It’s all fairly subjective. What matters is what God wants.
Take care of yourself; take care of others; but most of all, take care of God’s business and God’s blessings. When you do that, you’ll find you’ve taken care of yourself and others in the process. Jesus had people challenge and try to persuade Him all the time. He consistently directed His responses and actions back to the Word, which was grounded in what is right, true, and life-changing. Sometimes those responses felt warm and fuzzy, sometimes they pierced like a sword(Matt. 10:34 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send [or bring] peace, but a sword.”) Today speak the truth in love—that’s God’s business. Happy Tuesday!
