A Thought: A Blanket. I sleep with a blanket that is white and furry. Angela gave us girls these blankets one Christmas. They are as soft and warm as they are comforting. When I watch tv in the living room, I also usually have a Razorback blanket over me, which ironically, Angela also gave the girls when they were at the U of A. I also snuggled with a red plaid blanket from childhood. I still have it. Why my love affair with blankets? Most likely, I appreciate their warmth and comfort and the association from childhood is strong. Our children’s ministry at Asbury UMC is collecting blankets which will be given to the homeless. No doubt they will be received with gratitude for the warmth and comfort they will bring. God’s Love is the ultimate ‘blanket’ covering our lives with grace, just as His Son, Jesus Christ, has covered our sins by His sacrifice. May we honor that as we extend the blanket of love and comfort to others this season and always. Have a terrific Tuesday! 1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
