A Thought: How do you process sadness?
The death of Otto Warmbier has left me feeling very sad—for his life ending at 22; his grieving, devastated parents; for our nation and the world in which torture of any kind is allowed. As I understand it, he went to study, removed propaganda/property one day—admitted it, and was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. I am stunned by the harshness of the punishment and even more greatly affected by his tragic treatment and ultimate death. My goal in mentioning this is not political, but actual. Everyday we encounter either personally or through the news, situations and events which bring us great sadness. How do we process that grief? Talk it out. Talk to God; Talk to a Trusted Friend; Talk to your Pastor; Talk to a legislator if it contains political fabric; and talk to God again. God, in Your mercy hear our prayers. Restore our Trust. Bring us Your Wisdom. Guard us as we find Refuge in You.
