A Thought: When Someone is Troubled and so are You.
We know to be kind, encouraging and prayerful when someone is troubled about something, but it is hard to do that well, when you are also stressed. What should you do? First, put your life on ‘pause’ a second and be quiet. This will keep you from saying something you shouldn’t and certainly won’t help either of you. Then pray for the Lord to give you a greater portion of understanding and a more compassionate spirit to say the wise, necessary and helpful thing. The Spirit may also give you an idea for an action of generous kindness to give the other which will lift their spirit. For when we do for others, it really does change the focus off of our stress, and give us joy knowing we have helped. For that is how God made us!
Gal.5 “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.” Happy Saturday!
