A Thought: Reach Up!
Well, she is in the presence of Jesus. I want to share with you now what happened Monday. I got there and her family members were there, but she was asleep it appeared. We circled up and I prayed over her, as we all held hands. I stepped out of the room to visit quietly with the family, when suddenly out of the corner of my eye, in the next room I saw her arms reaching up. I asked the family if I could go pray again, but this time With her, rather than Over her. Her arms lowered and her eyes opened, and I held her hands and asked her if I could pray with her. She nodded. I prayed for her journey to be comfortable and peaceful. I commended the Lord and her for her faithful witness both in living and dying. I prayed for the joy which awaited her; the home being prepared for her; and the salvation which assured her of these promises in Christ. I prayed for her to know she was being prayed for by her family, pastors, and church family that those prayers would sustain her in the transition from her earthly breath to her heavenly breath. All during this prayer, this sweet lady who had been basically asleep for several days, began to kiss my hands, take my hands and held them over her heart; draw me at the end of the prayer, kiss my cheek, and faintly said to me: ” I love you. Thank you.” Blessings of ministry are rich beyond comparison. I am so humbled and honored she would use her last bit of energy to express her Christian love for me and allow me to pray her swiftly onto her path to eternity.
And this experience began that day when her arms reached up for Jesus. Today, reach up for Jesus that He may energize and empower you today and always. Bless you!
John 17:1 “After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.”
