Yesterday at the UM Legal Forum, a profound statement was made: “When one’s power escalates, one’s compassion and sensitivity diminishes.” I’ve seen this to be true in most cases—Jesus, who was without the sin of pride or self-focused ego, being the exception. While positions of leadership and responsibility are important, we cannot allow those responsibilities to overshadow those who represent those responsibilities. In our role, whatever that may be, let us commit to being more in tune with who people are by caring about their story rather than presuming it, or worse, ignoring it. Life matters. And God deserves the Glory–that’s all!
Happy Friday!!! I get to spend it with this beautiful lady–wedding planning!
Ps.115:1 “Not to us, O LORD, not to us,
but to your name goes all the glory
for your unfailing love and faithfulness.”
