A Thought: Interruptions.

I’ve been up this morning a little earlier than normal—sleep was interrupted by wakefulness! Yesterday at a funeral, a family member was speaking about the deceased and her husband interrupting one another throughout their marriage when they would tell stories–one prompting the other to get the details correct.(Tony and I have been doing that for years—must have slipped in among the wedding vows!) Yesterday you experienced interruptions, as you will today and tomorrow. That’s just life. The key is:How do you handle them? Gideon was going about his business in the wine press, when God called him to a mission. Gideon responded with Fear. Esther was playing beauty queen to King Xerses when God called her to save her people. Esther met that interruption with clever Wisdom. Mary was minding her own business, when God called her to bear the Savior of the world. She met that huge interruption with a question, “How can this be?” And God satisfied her with an answer from the Angel, and Mary accepted this huge interruption with Grace and Obedience. Today may we respond to the interruptions with less fear and aggravation, and with more wisdom, Grace and obedience.

James 1:2 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”
