A Thought: Falling Leaves.
As plants grow, they shed older leaves and grow new ones. This is important because the leaves become damaged over time by insects, disease and weather. In addition, deciduous trees, like maples, oaks and elms, shed all their leaves in the fall in preparation for winter. In our faith, we need to do the same. Daily our sin damages us. But through Christ, we shed that daily ‘damage’ as we are aware, confess and repent of our sin to renew and commit to be better in our spirits and living. Our renewal through our Lord, prepares us for what may come our way in life. In this new week, may the trees shedding their leaves be a reminder to us to shed our disappointments, sadness, frustrations and sins, and prepare for the blessings to come in Christ.
