A Thought: Reverence.
Have we lost a bit of our reverence? I may come across conservative, but I like to hold my Bible and flip through its pages, rather than using an app( although I’m thankful that is available!); I don’t place anything else on top of it; I don’t allow coffee cups, etc on the altar. But, when I pray, my head is bowed, my hands are usually clasped, but I’m not always on bended knee. I address other clergy by their title, and when I had young children I tried to teach them conduct in God’s house, especially, is due respect. Call me old-fashioned if you want, but I’m just wanting to hold the tradition of reverence. I’m grateful for the Church this morning and for this little one on her way to church, hands already clasped. Question: With that dress, was she going to learn about Jonah?
Hebrews 12:28 “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.”
