A Thought: Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus with His disciples on the night before He was crucified.
This is a solemn occasion, marked by the shadow of Jesus’ betrayal. The word “Maundy” is derived from the Latin word for “command.” It refers to the command Jesus gave to the disciples at the Supper, to love with humility by serving one another and to remember His sacrifice. Jesus modeled the humility and service by washing the disciples’ feet. He was the Great Host. He still is, and we are the invited guests. Come celebrate in presence or spirit with us tonight @ Asbury UMC, Little Rock, 6:30 pm.
