“My faithful God, answer me when I call out to you. Give me rest from my trouble.
Have mercy on me. Hear my prayer.” Psalm 4:1 (NIrV)
There are many times when it takes too long for me to make a decision about something that is happening in my life. When I was little and I became impatient, I was given the following advice, “Little folks want what they want right now, but big folks can afford to wait.” Very true statement…impatience is a very human trait. We would like to have things taken care of immediately and so we look for a “quick fix’ for all our problems.
In our scripture, David was impatient with God when his prayers were not answered. However, at the end of the Psalm, David recognizes God’s loving care, even when his prayers are not answered as he would like them to be.
So, what is going on in your life that you would currently like a “quick fix” for and will that “quick fix” make a difference. Lastly, be sure to give God praise for his love and patience with you and thank him for being on your side no matter what.
